I have this recipe that I got from my friend's mom and I rate it as the best flaky pie crust recipe .While discussing the baking method for assembling the ingredients and making the pie crust we shall discuss certain tricks and tips in between which will make you believe why i rate my recipe as the best flaky pie crust recipe.
There are basically four ingredients that go in the making of the pie crust.
FLOUR-11/4 CUP
BUTTER-1/2 CUP CHILLED AND ICED
SALT -1/4 TEASPOON
ICE COLD WATER-1/4 CUP
YOU NEED A 9 INCH PIE PLATE FOR MAKING THIS CRUST.
It is very important to note  that the butter that we will use in making the pie crust must be chilled and cold.
The water need to be ice cold and completely chilled. If possible add a few ice cubes to the water that will be used in making the pie crust so that the water is completely chilled.
In a large bowl combine the flour and the salt. Now add in the cold butter and combine all the 3 ingredients thoroughly until the mixture is like even sized bits or till no mixture is bigger than a garden pea in size.
Now stir in the ice cold water one tablespoon at a time until the mixture forms a ball.Remeber once the moisture that is water has been added do not overwork the dough.Wrap  in plastic and refrigerate for atleast 4-6 hours.
Now the time to make the pie crust.Remove the dough from the plastic wrap on a lightly flour dusted board or surface.
Try not to overwork your dough and using your rolling pin work from the centre towards the outer edges.
Lightly dust the surface and the rolling pin with the flour.Roll out the dough to finely fit the 9 inch pie plate
Dust the bottom of the pie plate with flour before laying out the bottom crust on it.Place the crust in the pie plate and press the dough evenly into the bottom and sides of your pie plate.
